Pocket Style Fender Flares

What Are Pocket Style Fender Flares?

Pocket style fender flares have a row of recessed pockets around the flare, each holding a bolt head, so the flare looks bolted on. On most sets the bolts are for looks and the flare mounts in the factory holes, so there is no drilling through the body (Bushwacker product copy). They stand out farther than OE style flares and add more tire coverage.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Bolted-on look without drilling on most sets; more coverage than OE style; many come in a paintable smooth finish.

Cons

More visible than OE style; some trucks need factory mud flaps removed; a few sets need minor trimming.

Does It Need Drilling?

Most pocket sets use factory mounting holes. A few list minor trimming or removal of factory mud flaps. Each product page says which.
