Fender flares are made for specific trucks. A set that fits a 2018 F-150 will not fit a 2021. Use this guide to pick the right set, or email us and we will help.
1. Find your exact truck
You need these details. Most are on the driver door jamb sticker, your registration, or your VIN.
- Year, make and model (for example 2019 Ram 1500)
- Generation or body style where it matters (for example Ram 1500 DS "Classic" vs the newer DT)
- Trim (some trims, like off-road or sport packages, have different fenders or factory flares)
- Cab style (regular, extended/double, crew)
- Bed length (measure inside the bed at the floor, front wall to closed tailgate: about 5.5 ft, 6.5 ft or 8 ft)
- Factory flares or molding: does your truck already have flares or fender trim?
Then shop from the Shop by Truck menu. Each product page lists the years and any cab, bed or trim limits. Read those notes before you order.
2. How coverage and tire clearance work
- Coverage is how far the flare sticks out past the stock fender. The manufacturer lists it on most products, usually in inches.
- More coverage hides wider tires and wheels with more offset. It also helps keep mud and rocks off your paint.
- If you run aftermarket wheels or tires, compare how far your tire sticks out past the fender to the flare's listed coverage.
- Flares do not create room for bigger tires. Lifts, leveling kits and trimming are separate. Tire coverage rules vary by state, so check your local laws.
3. Pick a style
- Pocket Style: rugged look with exposed bolt heads. Medium to wide coverage.
- Extra-Wide: maximum coverage for wide wheel and tire setups.
- OE Style: smooth, factory-looking flares with slim coverage, for a clean stock look.
- Bolt-On: a bold look with visible bolts.
- Paintable: can be painted to match your truck's color.
Many sets install using existing factory holes. Some need drilling or trimming. Check the product page and the brand's install instructions.
4. Not sure? Ask us before you order
Email info@fenderflares.com with:
- Year, make, model and trim
- Cab style and bed length
- VIN (optional, but it helps)
- Whether you have factory flares or fender trim
- Any lift, leveling kit, or wheel and tire size
- A photo of your wheel well (optional)
We will reply with the sets that fit your truck.
Test-fit before you install. Hold the flares up to the wheel openings before you drill, cut or paint anything.
