The GMC Sierra 1500 has gone through several body generations since 1999, and fender flares are molded to each one. Your model year, and in some years which half of the generation you have, decide what fits. This guide goes generation by generation, covers the mix-ups that cause most wrong orders, and points to the GMC Sierra 1500 fender flares we carry. For a primer on flare styles and tire coverage, see our truck fender flares guide.
Every Sierra listing on our site names the years it fits in the title. Match that range to your truck first, then pick a style. Every Sierra 1500 option we list is on the GMC Sierra 1500 fender flares page.

1999-2006 Sierra 1500 fender flares
For the first-generation Sierra 1500 we carry the Husky Liner Pocket Style set (2804917), listed for 1999-2007 Sierra 1500 Classic. GMC kept selling this older body as the Sierra 1500 Classic into the 2007 model year, alongside the new 2007 truck. If your 2007 is a Classic, use this set, not the 2007-2013 flares below. Check the product page for the exact cab and bed details before you order.
2007-2013 Sierra 1500 fender flares
This body has the widest choice of styles in our catalog:
- Bushwacker Boss Pocket Style (40928-02)
- Husky Liner OE Style (2804926)
- Husky Liner Extend-A-Fender (2804952 and 2804954)
- Lund SX-Sport (SX109TA)
Husky Liner lists two Extend-A-Fender part numbers for these years. Check each product page for the cab, bed and trim it covers before you order.
2014-2018 Sierra 1500 fender flares: the 2016 split
This is the generation that causes the most wrong orders. The Sierra 1500 was refreshed for 2016, and our front and full-set listings are split between 2014-2015 and 2016-2018. Buy the set that names your exact years:
- 2014-2015: Bushwacker Pocket Style (40960-02), Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender (40961-02), Bushwacker OE Style (40962-02), Husky Liner OE Style (2804962).
- 2016-2018: Bushwacker Pocket Style (40974-02), Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender (40975-02), Bushwacker OE Style Front (40145-02), Husky Liner OE Style (2804973).
- All 2014-2018: Bushwacker Pocket Style Rear (40122-02) is a rear-only pair listed for the full 2014-2018 run.
2019 and newer Sierra 1500 fender flares
The 2019 redesign needs flares listed for 2019 and newer. We carry:
- Bushwacker Pocket Style Rear (40102-02)
- Bushwacker Color-Matched Pocket Style (40909-64)
- Husky Liner Pocket Style (2804909), DRT Style (2804946) and Extend-A-Fender (2804981)
- EGR Bolt-On Look (791794-GAZ and 791794) and EGR Rugged Look (751794)
Watch the start and end year on each listing. Most sets are listed for 2019-2026, but EGR 791794 is listed for 2020-2024 and EGR 751794 for 2019-2025. Trim exclusions, where a listing has them, are on the product page.
Sierra 1500 vs Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD
Heavy duty Sierras use different fenders from the 1500, so 1500 flares do not fit them. Our HD sets are listed for 2015-2019 and 2020-2026: 2015-2019 Sierra HD and 2020+ Sierra HD.
Sierra vs Silverado
The Sierra and Silverado share a platform, but their front ends differ. Buy a flare that names the Sierra in its fitment. For the Chevy side, see Silverado 1500 fender flares by year.
Picking a style
OE style sits close to the factory fender line. Pocket style has a bolt-head look and sits wider. Extend-A-Fender and similar wide styles cover more tire. Compare OE style and pocket style flares.
Before you order
- Confirm your model year. For a 2007, check whether it is a Classic. For 2014-2018, check whether you have a 2014-15 or a 2016-18.
- Check the listing for trim, bed length and front or rear coverage.
- Send us your year, trim, cab, bed length and tire size if you want a second check.
Frequently asked questions
Do 2014-2015 Sierra 1500 flares fit a 2016-2018?
Not the front or full sets. Our listings split at 2016, so use a set listed for 2016-2018. The 40122-02 rear pair is listed for all 2014-2018.
Which flares fit a 2007 Sierra 1500 Classic?
The Classic uses the older body. Use a set listed for the 1999-2007 Sierra 1500 Classic, not the 2007-2013 flares.
Do Sierra 1500 flares fit a Silverado 1500?
Not unless the listing names the Silverado. The two trucks have different front ends.
Do Sierra 1500 flares fit a Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD?
No. The HD trucks use different fenders. Use a set listed for the 2500 HD or 3500 HD.
Do Sierra 1500 fender flares need drilling?
It depends on the set. Some use factory mounting points and some call for drilling. Read the instructions for your exact part number.
